Holiday stress getting you down?

The holiday season can be particularly hard on young people, especially young workers who often work in many of the jobs that support the season – everything from retail to food service or even hiring yourself out to hang holiday lights.
Some of the biggest causes of stress come from juggling these demanding jobs, financial pressures, and social media comparison.
Here are a few tips to make it through:
- Limit social media and recognize that it only shows the best of experiences so exercise critical judgment when seeing other’s posts.
- Manage expectations about what the holiday season should be – watch your schedule and be sure not to overcommit yourself.
- Set healthy boundaries including a budget for your finances and be sure to communicate and share those expectations with those in your social circle.
- Prioritize self-care – take time to decompress after work and use stress relieving practices such as deep breathing exercises, physical activity, and journaling.
How ever you spend your holiday – may it be joyful!
