Save the Date: 2019 GOSH Student/Early Career Day

The 2019

LAST

Student/Early Career Day at the Oregon Governor’s Occupational Safety and Health Conference creates an opportunity for those ages 18-26+ to learn more about careers and opportunities in safety and health. The 2019 event will occur on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 from 8 AM to 5 PM at Portland’s Oregon Convention Center. Although the final agenda is still being developed, it will be similar to the 2017 event including opportunities to attend the conference keynote and opening session, different panels about the roles and jobs in the field, a speed-networking workshop, instructive presentations, and the exhibit hall.

Previous attendees in 2017 included members of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) Student Chapters based at both Mt. Hood Community College and Oregon State University. All Oregon residents or students are welcome to apply to attend. Applicants are required to complete a short online application available below and are required to list one reference (can be mentor, teacher, employer) who can speak to the applicant’s interest in exploring potential careers in workplace safety and health. Priority will be given to those with an interest in a career working in occupational safety, health and well-being. Although there is no fee for the participant to attend this program, participants will be required to have their own transportation to the Oregon Convention Center located in Portland and be 18 or older (or emancipated minor). Up to 30 attendees will be considered for this program. Lunch will be provided.

If you are a student or early career seeker in occupational safety and health and would like to participate, please complete the online form below.
